			Standards are the minimum requirements used for the development and evaluation of approved programs. Competencies, established with input from various professional groups associated with the disciplines being approved, specify the minimum requirements in knowledge and skills to function effectively in the career field. Standards and Competencies are also listed in Section III of the Programs Approval Guide.

			Programs Approval Guide
			The Programs Approval Guide is designed to familiarize and assist you with all aspects of the program approval process. The guide is divided into three sections. Section I contains general information on the approval process; Section II contains the Content of the Self-Study Report; Section III contains the Standards and Competencies.
			Paper Review Form
			The Paper Review Form is used by the paper reviewer to evaluate a program's self-study document.

			Fee Changes The Board of Directors has made updates to NAACLS fees.
			Policy Change The NAACLS Board of Directors approved a revision to its policy on Inactive Status during its April 6, 2006 meeting. This revision limits the number of years a program may remain on inactive status to two (2) years.
