The NAACLS Board of Directors elected its new Executive Committee during its September meeting in Chicago. The new Executive Committee is as follows: Cynthia Wells, EdD, CLS(NCA), MT(ASCP), President Dr. Wells has been re-elected to serve a consecutive two-year term as President of the Board of Directors. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1989 and is an ASCLS Representative to the board. She is the Director of Total Quality Management and Assistant Director of CLS Programs at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Joeline D. Davidson, MBA, CLS(NCA), Vice President Ms. Davidson has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1994 and previously served as the At-Large Member of the Executive Committee. She is an ASCLS Representative to the board. She is the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia. Frederick W. Pairent, PhD, Secretary Dr. Pairent has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1991. He is a Four-Year Educator Generalist on the board. He is the Dean, School of Allied Health Professions at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. John Ryan, MBA, HT/HTL(ASCP), Treasurer Mr. Ryan has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1992. He is the NSH Representative to the board. He is the Assistant Administrative Director at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dorryl L. Buck, MD Dr. Buck was appointed to the Board of Directors this year. He is an ASCP Representative to the board. Dr. Buck is the Medical Director of the Medical Technology Program at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also, the new chairmen and vice chairmen of the review committees are as follows: Lucille Contois, MA, MT(ASCP), Chairman, CLSPRC Ms. Contois has been a member of the CLSPRC since 1991. She is the Program Director/Department Chair of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan. Katherine Nisi Zell, EdS, MT(ASCP)SH, Vice Chairman, CLSPRC Ms. Zell has also been a member of the CLSPRC since 1991. She is the Program Director of the CLT/MLT-AD Program and Chairman of the Department of Allied Health at Brunswick College in Brunswick, Georgia. Halcyon St. Hill, EdD, MS, MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), Chairman, PARC Dr. St. Hill has served as Co-Chairman of this committee since 1994 and previously served as chairman of the Phlebotomy Programs Review Committee from 1992-94. She is the Director of the CLS/MT Program and Associate Professor at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Benna Boutty, MA, MT(ASCP), Vice Chairman, PARC Ms. Boutty has been a member of the PARC since 1994 and previously served as a member of the Phlebotomy Programs Review Committee from 1993-94. She is an Instructor at the Phlebotomy Program at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Jerry Phipps, Chairman, APRC Jerry Phipps has been Chairman of the APRC since its inception in 1994. He is a Pathologists' Assistant at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. (Photo unavailable) NAACLS is also pleased to welcome the following individuals to the Board of Directors, CLSPRC and the PARC: Richard J. De Luca, MPH, MA Mr. De Luca is President of the Santa Fe Group, Inc. in Akron, Ohio. He is the newly elected Public Member of the Board of Directors. Sergey Lyubsky, MD, PhD Dr. Lyubsky is the Assistant Chief Pathologist at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northport, New York. He is the CLS/MT, CLT/MLT Pathologist on the CLSPRC. Leo J. McCarthy, MD, FRCP, Edin/Ire Dr. McCarthy is the Director of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University Hospital and Outpatient Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is the CLS/MT Pathologist on the CLSPRC. Mary Jean Rutherford, MEd, MT(ASCP)SC Ms. Rutherford previously served on the CLSPRC from 1993-94. She is the Program Director of the MT and MLT Programs at Arkansas State University in State University, Arkansas. She is a CLT/MLT Educator on the CLSPRC. Peggy A. Wenk, BS, HTL(ASCP) Ms. Wenk began her term of office with NAACLS in February 1995. She is the Program Director of the Histotechnology Program at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. She is the HT Educator on the CLSPRC. Virginia R. Narlock, PhD, CLS(NCA), MT(ASCP) Dr. Narlock is the Program Director, Laboratory Education, at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She is a Member-at-Large on the PARC. Kathryn L. Smith, CLPlb(NCA), PBT(ASCP) Ms. Smith previously served as a member of the Phlebotomy Programs Approval Review Committee from 1993-94. She is the Supervisor of Distributions at the Memphis Pathology Laboratory in Memphis, Tennessee and is the Phlebotomy Practitioner on PARC.
