In the NAACLS News, Fall 2000 (Volume 76) Board Treasurer, Dorryl L. Buck, MD, announced an increase in annual fees for both accreditation and approval effective July 1, 2001. This is a planned increase of $100 each year for three years, and it is the first fee increase since those announced in 1993. June invoices for accredited programs will show a fee of $1000. This will increase to $1100 in 2002 and to $1200 in 2003. Also effective July 1, 2001, the Site Visit Preparation Fee will be $500, but no further increase is planned at this time. Application fees, site visit fees and clinical affiliate fees will remain the same. For approval, programs invoiced in September will see a fee of $900 as will programs invoiced in April 2002. The next year the fee will be $1000 with $1100 required in 2004 and 2005. No other increases are planned for approved programs. In his article announcing the increases Dr. Buck said, "Every member of the Board clearly understands the financial pressures facing programs and wishes the increase were not necessary... NAACLS will continue to be vigilant in the use of your funds and sincerely hopes it will be many years before another increase will be necessary."
