Davidson Completes Second Term as President of NAACLS by Kathy V. Waller, PhD, CLS(NCA) President, NAACLS Board of Directors

On September 29, 2001, Joeline Davidson, MBA, CLS(NCA), completed her second two-year term as President of NAACLS. During her tenure, the organization experienced growth, viability and visibility, and in 1998 NAACLS celebrated its 25th anniversary of specialized accreditation. Ms. Davidson was also instrumental in planning the September 2000 NAACLS Futures Conference, which helped set new directions for the profession. Ms. Davidson will serve one more year on the Board of Directors as a representative of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.

Ms. Davidson not only presided over Board meetings and helped set agendas, she also represented NAACLS exceedingly well at various association meetings, the Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference, and several open forums. Her reputation is that of a fair, open-minded, and gracious leader and listener. All of us who have worked with her understand the meaning of southern gentility. Her ability to work with divergent groups, to respectfully accommodate differences, and to represent our interests in a larger sphere will be acknowledged for many years to come.

We thank Joeline Davidson for her exemplary leadership, her dedication to the profession and to NAACLS, and for her over-arching class and style.
