An Invitation to Nominate

Members of the NAACLS communities of interest are invited to nominate qualified individuals for service on the Board of Directors (BOD), Clinical Laboratory Sciences Programs Review Committee (CLSPRC) and the Programs Approval Review Committee (PARC).
Please review the openings and qualifications needed and then nominate another individual or yourself to be considered. The Nominations Committee will evaluate all nominations against the criteria of experience, current employment and, where necessary, demographic distribution. With input from Review Committee members, the committee will recommend to the Board a final slate of nominations in April 2005. Elections will take place at the April Board meeting.
Letters of nomination with current curriculum vitae for each nominee should be forwarded to the Chair of the Nominations Committee at the 8410 Bryn Mawr Avenue address to assure arrival prior to March 18, 2005. They may also be faxed (773-714-8886) or emailed (kimball@naacls.org).
The following positions are to be filled:

NAACLS Board of Directors (BOD)
Two Public members
(Members shall be public representatives whose primary livelihood is not derived from the laboratory industry.)

Clinical Laboratory Sciences Programs Review Committee (CLSPRC)
One CLS Educator
One Four-Year Educator

Associated Professions Review Committee (APRC)
One Four-Year Educator
One Pathologist Educator

Programs Approval Review Committee (PARC)
One Member at Large
Two Clinical Assistant
Educators
Two Phlebotomy Educators

Programs Review Committee Member Requirements:

Educator Positions:
• Service as a program director from a NAACLS accredited or approved program of the same type as the review committee is preferred. A program's accreditation/approval history will be considered. If program directors are not available to serve on committees, then faculty of programs that are the same type as the review committee are acceptable if they are knowledgeable in the accreditation and approval processes and management in education.
• Experience as a site visitor and/or paper reviewer for NAACLS is required for accreditation review committee positions. Attendance at NAACLS accreditation workshops, instead of experience, may be acceptable for CLSPRC positions.
• Knowledge of the principles and process of accreditation and approval.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of management in education.

Educator Generalist:
• Current service in an educational administrative position in an institution with a NAACLS accredited or approved program.
• Experience as a site visitor and/or Self-Study Report paper reviewer.
• Knowledge of the principles and processes of accreditation and program approval.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of management in education.

Pathologist Educator:
• Preference is given to a current medical advisor/medical director for a NAACLS accredited or approved program or a physician with pathology certification or board admissibility whose interest relates directly to a NAACLS accredited or approved program.
• Experience as a site visitor and/or Self-Study Report paper reviewer for NAACLS is preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with the principles and processes of accreditation.
• Familiarity with the principles and practices of management.
