Board of Directors Update From the October 2, 2004 Meeting

In addition to accreditation and approval awards from the CLSPRC, PARC and APRC, the following actions took place:

• After election, review committee appointments will run from July to July, while Board appointments will run from September to September each year.

• A subcommittee will convene to address new criteria for consortia.

• Changes in DMS paper review and site visit report forms were referred to committee.

• An editorial change in the CLT/MLT Standard 9B5 was approved.

• Editorial changes in CLS/MT Standard 9B2 and in Phlebotomy Standard 9B5 were approved.

• Revised Standards for Accredited Programs for the Histotechnologist were approved.

• The NAACLS Policy and Procedure Manual will be revised to provide for gender neutral language.

• On a case by case basis, and with appropriate documentation, Canadian certification may be approved as national certification for CLS/MT program directors.
