Board of Directors Update September 2005 Meeting

At its meetings on September 22-24, in addition to program actions from CLSPRC, APRC and PARC, the Board of Directors' discussions included the following:

• Accepted the report of the annual audit and confirmed the continued financial stability of the agency.
  
• Voted to support funding of the CCCLW e-newsletter.
  
• Set a date for voting on a change of Bylaws that will permit the Board to elect two of the three ASCP representatives from the associate member section.
  
• Received a report from the Graduate Task Force and endorsed the continuation of its efforts toward accrediting an advanced practice doctorate in clinical laboratory science.
  
• Received a report from the Task Force on Hospital-Based Programs. A continued monitoring of these programs is planned.
  
• Received a report from the Task Force on Categorical Programs and supported continued study of approving such programs.
  
• Received an update on progress toward merging CLT/MLT and Phlebotomy Self Study Reports. A pilot project is underway.
  
• Approved revisions to numerous forms and worksheets as well as editorial changes to selected Standards.
  
• Approved a staff proposal to set a single fall release date for announcing revisions to documents.
  
• Received verbal updates from representatives of the BOR and NCA.
  
• Received a verbal report from the new President of CLMA describing collaborative activities focused on advocating for the professions.
  
• Appointed the Quality Assurance Committee to review terminology used for CLS/MT and CLT/MLT.
  
• Held the annual election of officers. Officers elected were:
