Annual Survey Coming Soon by Elizabeth Everson Computer Information Systems and Program Coordinator

The Annual Programs Online Survey sent by NAACLS will once again be conducted in the spring. Most of the survey will be the same as before, although we are currently developing new questions for Section Three. There has been some interest in determining the background degree level and areas of study held by program directors. This may be useful as institutions begin to develop doctoral CLS programs. It has been cited as an issue for regional accreditors. One problem posed by such a question is building a list of areas of study that can accommodate a majority of the survey respondents. While a fill-in section for the program director to type in area of study would be more exact, it would provide too many variations to supply really useful data. This has been a problem in the past with the question regarding the institution type. As programs and institutions change, we will attempt to change the survey to accommodate their needs. Your comments as program directors on the last survey were invaluable and our hope is that this survey goes as well. Keep an eye out for an email from NAACLS soon!
