NAACLS Board of Directors Update
|
At the September 21, 2007 meeting of the NAACLS Board of Directors, in
addition to accreditation and approval awards recommended by the RCAP and PARC,
the following actions were taken:
- Based on the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
recommendations, accreditation/approval information for all NAACLS programs
will be posted on the NAACLS website to include the date and formal action of
the last review, when the next review will take place, and the percentage of
graduates/certificants that find employment or pursue additional education.
(See CEO's Corner.)
- Three-year means of certification examination pass rates for all programs will
be collected and, after notification is sent to program directors, will be
posted on the NAACLS website. (See CEO's Corner.)
- A new annual program fee structure will take effect beginning July 1, 2008.
(See article on page 10.)
Qualifications for new program directors were loosened to allow a
"probationary status" for one year, during which time it may be required to
participate in a NAACLS workshop to comply with Standard 5.
- A minimum number of successful blood draws was added to Standard 9B2 in the
Clinical Assistant Standards. This clarifies the previous requirements for
blood collection techniques.
- A draft of the Guide to Accreditation, Clinical Doctorate, is now available
for review on the NAACLS website.
- A task force was appointed to review and update the NAACLS consortia policies.
Dr. Shauna Anderson was recognized and applauded for her service as President
of the NAACLS Board of Directors during the past two years.
