Billing updates:
- NAACLS will begin billing programs who reach Serious Applicant Status (SAS) and Doctoral Candidacy Status (DCS) after 1/1/2023. Billing will go out in January and July.
January billing will include programs that reached SAS or DC within the previous 6 months. This will be prorated using the previous year’s fee through July and will be billed the full current accreditation fee going forward annually in July.
July billing will include programs that reached SAS or DCS within the previous 6 months and will be billed that year’s accreditation fee in full and annually in July.
- The NAACLS billing process has been updated for all Phlebotomy and Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) programs as they transition to accredited programs. Starting in July 2023, NAACLS will bill the aforementioned disciplines at the accredited rate each July. For programs with October 2022 invoices, the bill will be prorated for nine months of the billing year. April 2023 invoices will be prorated for three months. NAACLS will invoice all Phlebotomy and MLA programs each July starting in 2023 at the accredited rate. If you have any questions, please contact the NAACLS Staff.

International Accreditation Policy & Fees
The NAACLS Board of Directors has voted to open the accreditation process to laboratory programs located outside the United States. Such programs are invited to have the chief executive officer submit letters of intent to seek NAACLS accreditation. All materials sent to NAACLS regarding accreditation must be submitted in English.
The steps of the accreditation process for international programs are identical to the steps for United States programs and are found in the Guide to Accreditation. These include an application for accreditation, attainment of serious applicant status, submission of a self study document, and an on-site evaluation.
The program is expected to meet the Standards as defined by NAACLS. The sponsoring academic institution must be accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency for higher education and must be authorized under applicable law to provide post secondary education and to grant the appropriate degree.
The program is expected to pay the application fee, all costs associated with the on-site visit (including business class air fare), plus an annual fee. The fee schedule follows:
